The Light Ekphrastic

I’m honored to have a piece in The Light Ekphrastic, a quarterly journal where, in brief, writers and visual artists respond to each other’s work. I was paired with Mohit Saini, and responded to his poem The Time Thief’s Retirement Plan. It got me thinking about cameos, family heirlooms, and discovery. The lilly is for hope, the coreopsis for resilience. Mohit responded to one of my drawings - our exchange is here.

All the shapes were free-cut in one session while looking at reference photos - no tracing, sketching, or drawn outlines.
